About I have been a consultant for 23 years and previously a Commercial Banker for 15 years. I have undertaken numerous Consulting assignments, which entailed development of business strategy, business plans, financial models, Discounted Cashflow Modelling NPV & IRR, valuations, capital raising or strategic partnerships in such industry sectors as; – Cleantech / Renewables – Food & Beverage – Manufacturing – Nutraceuticals & Functional Foods – Primary Production – Agriculture & Aquaculture. – Science Commercialisation – Government, University, other Research Institutes and SME’s. – Tech Park / Innovation Systems I have also led, or project managed 5 major economic development projects from concept papers to feasibility studies to business cases or reviews, which secured approximately $22m of government funding. Some roles of note; 1) Undertook Financial Modelling on a potential tourism acquisition for Central North Island Iwi – Sept – Nov 2023 2) Undertook preliminary Due Diligence on a potential aquaculture acquisition for a Central North Island Iwi – July 2023 3) Provided financial evaluation support to a Central North Island Iwi for their Forestry Strategy RFP and a seedling project from May – June 2023. 4) Operations and Finance Manager for an online shopping start up Banana Box Limited from September 2016 – 31 January 2020. 5) Worked from August 2015 – October 2018 for a charitable organisation securing community & charity funding school programs. I also implemented Xero & undertook the Bookkeeping function. 6) Supporting the CFO at the Cawthron Institute during 2012 by providing the following services; o Financial analysis support for the sale of a business unit by tender o Reviewed a shellfish hatching process for commercialisation opportunities o Review of opportunities for a shellfish spat business o Legal documentation preparation and support work for the shellfish business sale process o Preparation of legal documentation for a lease o Prepared several board papers (a shellfish business and future capex needs) 7) Worked with several Nelson based aquaculture businesses (including businesses operating in paua, mussels and fin fish) advised on their business plans and assisted raising capital. 8) Secured several funding rounds for an IT company for the business to fund numerous product developments. Post Investment coached / advised the founder on an ongoing basis. 9) For a frozen fruit confection manufacturer identified a US based commercialisation partner, assisted in negotiating a Heads of Agreement with a large NZ Food Manufacturer and completed a capital raising program. 10) Advising several Nelson based aquaculture businesses that included paua, mussels and fin fish, on their business models, business plans and assisted raising capital. 11) An adviser to the Cawthron Institute Business Development Team on their Business Plan, rewriting their Business Plan and coming up with some strategies to develop their innovation framework and funding streams.
